Color

dreams have a ceiling

This queer dramatic short film is shooting in March/April ‘26!

Andy struggles with depression, the impacts of which have gotten more severe over the last few months. Their partner Leo and their close friends are concerned, and Andy is too...kind of. Andy has started having incredibly amazing dreams full of life, color and connection. But the more vivid Andy’s dreams become, the more dull their real life feels. And when their dreams start showing signs of a ceiling, the panic sets in.

Queer stories are rarely told, and when they are, they’re often tragic. While this film deals with some heavy themes of mental health and life under capitalism, it centers queer joy, creativity and connection. We hope you’ll see yourself reflected in the beautiful characters and settings, and find the resolve to help us all build a better future.

Our primary weekend of shooting went off without a hitch! Well, the weather tried to throw us for a loop with some unseasonal snow the day before and hail on the first day, but our incredible cast and crew rallied to deliver awesome results! We have one more half-day shoot in April to capture the remaining dream sequences, and then it’ll be off to post-production! We’re excited to be working with Matt Esteron as editor/VFX, and with the team of Drea Castillo and Bjorn Watkins for our music. We’ve added some amazing BTS photos from Jessy Parr to our gallery - she really captured the energy of the shoot!

Stay tuned for more updates and the eventual release of “Color!”
